Zines all the time! Some recent ones include Like Gold and Faceted: The Story of Earth 2 Special Low Quantity Version, Blatzine, Three Interviews with Weirdo Dave, and Birthday Book. Some old ones I’m still really proud of are Vampire Rules, Somehow That Really Impressed Me, and Does It Make You More A Kid If You Want to Off the Pigs.

The Process is a 2025 book by the artist Georg Gatsas, published by light-years. Georg and I have been friends since 2009 when he took a photo of Silk Flowers, we’ve worked together on articles about 222 Bowery and Wierd Records, and he asked if I would help him with this book. We worked together on the permissions, text, and distribution, and I contributed an essay.

In conjunction with the exhibition ‘Bay Area Then’ (2025), Chris Johanson and I organized a series of music performances at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Working within the same timeframe as the exhibition (1990s) and the same priorities (possibility, resistance, discovery) the series hosted artists including Cellski, Linton, Tony Molina, Erica Dawn Lyle, and Ovarian Trolley.

Chunket Industries commissioned me to make a booklet to accompany the 2021 discography of this 1990s band. I interviewed 15 people, including the members of the band, their friends, collaborators, and fans. I collected archival images, assembled the interviews into one narrative text, and designed the booklet.

NBA Tattoos was a website I ran from 2010 – 2018ish. My sister and I were watching a Knicks game and wondering what percentage of the league had tattoos. Somehow no one had ever done this work? My band broke up in 2010 and I got league pass, started watching games every day. I made a spreadsheet and marked down every time I noticed a tattoo. At the end of the season I posted the results: 55%. For the next eight seasons I posted a new total for each year, broken down by team.

Corpsekisser is the duo of Heather Anderson and Ethan Swan, formed in 2004 in Portland during a very tumultuous/difficult summer. We play like once a year, released a one-sided LP in 2010, and toured the UK in 2012. Scratchy, haunted, opaque, seems to only be liked by people who don’t like music anymore. “We take this band very serious.”
